Al, the fishing historian brought up an interesting trivia question the other day. As most of you probably know, Lewis and Clark had a part in naming, at least temporarily, most of the rivers around Divide, Montana. The Big Hole, Beaverhead, and Ruby rivers were all renamed afterwards.
The question is – What were the original names given to the Big hole, Beaverhead, and Ruby rivers by Lewis and why?
You can find the answer somewhere on this page.
