The annual Salmonfly hatch is on, and we have seen the big bugs river wide. Right now it seems like the largest part of the hatch is happening in the middle part of the river, between Jerry and Brownes Bridge. If you have been wanting to experience this hatch for yourself, we recommend getting to the Big Hole River. The river is steadily dropping in flows, leaving behind great visibility and clean gravel beds. In addition to the salmonflies, we have seen PMD’s and Caddis, with some sporadic golden stones. The dry fly fishing should be prime in the coming week.
The fly shop is open daily from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with shuttles available everyday.
