Big Hole River 524 cfs—Melrose
Today the work bridge was taken out and the last rocks put in place for rip rap on the north shore. There was a little problem yesterday which forced them to lower the gate in the intake channel. They fixed that problem and the river is back in the main channel and should stay that way as long as the grass shall grow and the wind shall blow. At least that is what I was told.
We couldn’t get it opened for the weekend but Dick has contacted FWP and the signs should be coming down Monday. They got the word and should take them down tomorrow (Saturday), but we know that’s not gonna happen. I will take a series of pics tomorrow on the completed dam and post them on the comments. All in all it came out very well. There are a couple things the engineers did which I questioned as far as boat passage but their pretty minor.
