Another great day weather wise with lots of sun and light winds but I took a break from bonefishing. Mel and Lorisa from NYC who are staying next door to me asked if they could fish with me today. They don’t fly fish so we gathered up some bait and the spinning rods and went on the hunt for snapper. Lorisa who is originally from the former Soviet Union (and has some chilling stories to tell) was having a ball. Together with her Russian accent she is not afraid to ask questions and more than willing to learn how to fish. She caught the first gray snapper and Mel caught a few and I got one. I did hook a good size cuda but without wire leader he wasn’t on long. Mel and Lorisa are leaving tomorrow and I must say it’s been fun having them for neighbors this past week. Mel is a retired chiropractor and in the last week has healed numerous backs and joints here on the island.
A special message to Lulu: had you been with me yesterday at Somerset you would now be a bonefish gueen.
